Withdrawal Policy
Withdrawal Policy
The Journal of Contemporary Social Sciences (TJCSS) is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of academic publishing and ethical editorial practices. We recognize that, in certain circumstances, authors may need to withdraw their manuscript from consideration. The following policy explains the procedures and conditions for manuscript withdrawal.
1. Withdrawal Before Peer Review
Authors may request withdrawal of their manuscript at any time before the peer review process has started. Requests should be sent to the TJCSS Editorial Office via email. No charges or penalties apply to withdrawals made at this stage.
2. Withdrawal During Peer Review
Authors may also request withdrawal while the manuscript is under review. However, they should consider the following:
- After reviewer assignment: If reviewers have already been invited or assigned, withdrawal may disrupt the review workflow and delay the processing of other submissions.
- After reviewer reports are received: If review reports have already been submitted, withdrawal prevents the editor from reaching a final decision. At the editor’s discretion, reviewer comments may still be shared with the author.
- After revision request: If authors have been invited to revise and resubmit their manuscript, withdrawal at this stage will terminate further consideration of the manuscript for publication in TJCSS.
To request withdrawal during peer review, authors must email the Editorial Office, clearly stating the reason for withdrawal and whether they wish to receive any completed reviewer comments.
3. Withdrawal After Acceptance
Once a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication, withdrawal is generally not permitted, as the article may already be in the production process.
In exceptional circumstances, authors may submit a written request for withdrawal after acceptance. Such requests will be reviewed individually by the Editor-in-Chief, and supporting documentation may be required.
4. Consequences of Withdrawal
- Before review: No consequences apply.
- During or after review: Withdrawal may cause delays in editorial and reviewer workflows.
- Future submissions: In cases of repeated or unjustified withdrawals after review has begun, TJCSS reserves the right to decline future submissions from the author(s).
5. Contact for Withdrawal Requests
All withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing to the TJCSS Editorial Office through the official journal email address. Requests are considered effective only after written confirmation from the journal.
