Manuscript Withdrawal Policy

Authors should carefully consider their decision before submitting a manuscript to TJCSS. Submission begins the editorial process and may require time from editors, reviewers, and administrative staff.

Withdrawal Before Peer Review

The corresponding author may request withdrawal before external peer review begins.

The request must:

  • Be submitted in writing
  • State the manuscript title and submission number
  • Explain the reason for withdrawal
  • Confirm agreement from all authors

The withdrawal becomes effective only after written confirmation from the journal.

Withdrawal During Peer Review

A manuscript may be withdrawn during peer review where there is a valid reason, such as:

  • A serious error in the manuscript
  • An unresolved authorship dispute
  • A major ethical concern
  • Accidental duplicate submission
  • Circumstances preventing completion of the revision
  • Another reasonable explanation accepted by the editor

The corresponding author must provide written agreement from all authors.

Submission of the manuscript to another journal before TJCSS confirms withdrawal may be treated as simultaneous submission.

Withdrawal After Acceptance

Withdrawal after acceptance is discouraged because editorial and review resources have already been used.

The editor may approve withdrawal where:

  • A serious error affects the reliability of the work
  • An ethical concern has been identified
  • An authorship or legal dispute cannot be resolved
  • Publication could cause harm
  • Other exceptional circumstances exist

Withdrawal After Publication

A published article cannot normally be withdrawn as though it had never been published.

Concerns arising after publication will be handled through:

  • Correction
  • Expression of concern
  • Retraction
  • Article removal in exceptional legal or safety circumstances

Withdrawal by the Journal

TJCSS may withdraw a manuscript from consideration if:

  • Authors fail to respond to repeated communications
  • The manuscript is submitted elsewhere simultaneously
  • Plagiarism or misconduct is identified
  • Required ethical documents are not provided
  • Authorship consent cannot be confirmed
  • The manuscript violates journal policies
  • A legal or ethical concern prevents continued processing

Withdrawal Charges

TJCSS does not charge a manuscript withdrawal fee.

Financial considerations do not influence whether a withdrawal request is accepted
