Digital Preservation Policy

TJCSS is committed to maintaining long term access to its published content, even if the journal website experiences technical failure or the journal ceases publication.

Preservation Objectives

The journal’s preservation arrangements are intended to protect:

  • Published articles
  • Article metadata
  • Issues and tables of contents
  • Supplementary files
  • Corrections
  • Retractions
  • Expressions of concern
  • Other publication records

Preservation Measures

TJCSS uses the Open Journal Systems platform and maintains regular backups of:

  • Website files
  • Article files
  • Database records
  • User and submission information
  • Journal configuration
  • Published metadata

Backup copies should be stored separately from the main website server and access should be limited to authorized personnel.

External Preservation

TJCSS will arrange preservation through a recognized external preservation service compatible with Open Journal Systems, such as:

  • PKP Preservation Network
  • LOCKSS
  • CLOCKSS
  • Portico
  • An institutional digital repository

The journal website must name only the service in which TJCSS has actually enrolled and for which preservation has been activated.

Format Preservation

Published articles should be preserved in commonly accessible formats, including PDF. Metadata should be maintained in structured and reusable formats where technically possible.

Website Failure

If the website becomes temporarily unavailable, the journal will restore content from its backup copies.

If TJCSS permanently stops publishing, preserved content should remain available through its external preservation service, institutional repository, or another trusted archive.

Record Integrity

Corrections, retractions, and other post publication notices will be preserved with links to the relevant articles so that the publication record remains complete.

Important: Before publishing this policy, TJCSS must activate one external preservation service and write its exact name in the policy. Do not claim PKP PN, LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or Portico until enrollment is confirmed.
